Richard N. Danila has worked in infectious disease epidemiology at the Minnesota Department of Health since 1985 and is currently the Deputy State Epidemiologist. He is the Principal Investigator of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Emerging Infections Program Cooperative Agreement.  Dr. Danila is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health Division of Epidemiology. Dr. Danila been a consultant to CDC on multiple infectious disease issues including HIV prevalence, bioterrorism, and emerging infections. He has served on the Infectious Diseases Society of America Public Health Committee and the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists Executive Board. He has also served on the National Academy of Sciences Health and Medical Division Forum on Medical and Public Health Preparedness for Catastrophic Events.  He is the primary or co-author of over 45 peer-reviewed journal articles.
