Overview

Format: Self-paced online

This activity is planned and hosted by the University of Minnesota Department of Pediatrics.

Course Description: As a part of the Pediatric Grand Rounds Series, Dr. Rachel Rosen from Harvard University presents on the diagnoses of reflux in pediatric patients of all ages. Her talk covers difficulties of diagnosis and treatment, including therapeutic options.

Course Structure: The steps to complete this course and receive a Certificate of Participation are:

1. Register for the course.

2. Access and view the course content by clicking on the Access Course button above and Launch Video button which will appear after you have registered.

3. Complete the attestation.

4. Complete the course evaluation under My CE > Evaluations & Certificates in your CE Portal account. Your Certificate of Participation will become available after you have completed the evaluation. It will also be emailed to you. NOTE: Any reference in the course to texting attendance does not apply to this online course version.

Physicians eligible for ABP MOC II points must complete the online course evaluation AND online MOC Test to receive the available ABP MOC II Points: 

  • After submitting your attestation and completing the course evaluation in steps 3 and 4 above, select the CLAIM MOC button or access the MOC Test under My CE > Tests. Follow the screen prompts to complete the test. Upon successful completion of the test, your MOC credits will be reported to ACCME and ABP within one month.

This online course is a recording of the March 2, 2022, University of Minnesota Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds. At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:

  1. Discuss the differential diagnosis for infant reflux and how to treat it.
  2. Describe how to review masqueraders of reflux in older patients.
  3. Discuss the therapeutic options beyond acid suppression for reflux symptoms across the ages.

American Board of Pediatrics Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part II
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessments of the participant and feedback to the participant, enables the participant to earn 1.0 MOC point in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

Note that learners seeking ABP MOC Part II must successfully complete the MOC test in CE Portal to be eligible for ABP MOC Points. Participant data will be reported to ACCME and ABP on a monthly basis.

In order to be eligible for ABP MOC Part 2 credits, you must complete the course evaluation AND achieve a 70% passing score to complete this MOC test. You may retake the test as many times as needed. ABP MOC is only available to physicians.
