Overview

The overall goal of our Pediatric Grand Rounds Series is to provide comprehensive, up to date, and well-rounded, educational topics to pediatric providers at all stages of training. We aim to raise awareness of important topics in pediatrics related to basic research, patient safety, clinical care, advocacy, and faculty well-being and resilience.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:

  1. Summarize updates in diagnosis, treatment and research for various medical conditions.
  2. Discuss appropriate strategies to address patient or team-based issues.
  3. Examine issues related to healthy equity and healthcare disparities.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Credit Designation Statements

American Medical Association (AMA)
The University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Other Healthcare Professionals
Other healthcare professionals who participate in this CE activity may submit their statement of participation to their appropriate accrediting organizations or state boards for consideration of credit. The participant is responsible for determining whether this activity meets the requirements for acceptable continuing education.

American Board of Pediatrics Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part II
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessments of the participant and feedback to the participant, enables the participant to earn 1.0 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

Note that learners seeking ABP MOC Part II must text their attendance or claim credit online and then complete the test in CE Portal within 24 hours of the end of the session to be eligible for ABP MOC Points. OCPD will upload participant data on a monthly basis. 

In the event that an individual session is not offering an opportunity to test and earn ABP MOC Part II, it will be announced prior to the start of the session.
