Overview

This course is being planned and hosted by The University of Minnesota Department of Surgery, Division of Colon & Rectal Surgery. The Department contact is Alexandra Broek, [email protected].

This course will focus on hot topics in benign and malignant colon and rectal surgery. Lectures and discussions will be focused on surgical tips aimed at addressing challenging decisions or surgical situations. A major component of this course will be the opportunity to interact with faculty who use different protocols and have opposing points of view. These will be explored in case-based debates throughout the course aimed at provoking honest and informative discussion.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:

  1. Outline how to recognize, diagnose and treat complex diseases of the anus, rectum and colon using evidence based techniques.
  2. Identify surgical and non-surgical interventions for pelvic organ disorders.
  3. Diagnoses and manage treatment options in patients with diverticulitis.
  4. Discuss new and advanced options in the treatment of benign and malignant colorectal disorders.

Registration

  

Interactive Breakfast Sessions - Meet the Professors are offered to in-person registrants only. You will be prompted to select a session at the time of registration. Participation in the Interactive Breakfast Sessions is optional.

  • On-site registration will be allowed as space permits. All on-site registrants must use their own device to submit their registration and payment by credit card via CE Portal (cash/check not accepted).

  • Special needs, such as dietary restrictions, lactation room, etc., should be requested in advance. These requests cannot always be honored on site.

  • Cancellation Policy: In the event you need to cancel your registration, the registration fee, less a $50 administrative fee, will be refunded if you notify us by 4:30 p.m. Central Time two weeks prior to the start of the conference. No refunds will be made after this date.. The administrative cancellation fee for Residents/Fellows is $20.
