Overview

This series is designed to review complex cases with epilepsy or epilepsy-like disorders in comprehensive manner and determine best treatment. To review novel treatments or treatment approaches as these arise. Invited speakers will occasionally present this information.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:

  1. Discuss and analyze complex epilepsy cases with the epilepsy health care team including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuropsychology, Clinical Neurophysiology and Nursing.
  2. Determine best medical, surgical, and behavioral health approach to individual cases.
  3. Indentify practice related quality and safety issues if these arise.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

American Medical Association (AMA)
The University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
This activity is awarded up to 1.0 ANCC contact hours.
American Academy of PAs (AAPA)
University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1.0 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Other Healthcare Professionals
