The Department of Surgery (DoS) Grand Rounds series addresses updates in clinical care, disease management, research, and surgical education. The target audience incudes physicians, specifically DoS faculty, residents, & fellows. The ACGME competencies that are addressed include patient care/clinical skills, knowledge for practice, practice based learning and improvement, professionalism, systems of health care, and interpersonal and communication skills.

1. Summarize updates in diagnosis, treatment and research for various medical conditions.
2. Compare diagnostic and treatment options with team members.
