This activity is planned and hosted by the Center for Mind-Body Medicine. See webpage for additional information and to register.

This evidence-based, transformational training gives you the science and tools you need to make mind-body medicine an integral, foundational part of your practice and your life. It is the first step in becoming certified by one of the world’s premier programs in comprehensive self-care and group support. Our trainings focus on practical techniques for self-care and mutual support. We teach participants to focus their skills in supportive small groups, as well as with individuals and families and in classroom settings. Learn the science and skills of meditation, guided imagery, biofeedback, and self-expression in words, drawings, and movement. 


Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe the theory and practice underlying mind-body medicine.
  2. Practice and recognize the role of movement, exercise, and breathing as mind-body modalities.
  3. Demonstrate the use of drawings as mind-body modality.
  4. Practice and recognize the role of biofeedback and autogenic training as mind-body modalities.
  5. Practice and recognize the role of guided imagery as a mind-body modality.
  6. Practice and recognize the role of meditation as a mind-body modality.
  7. Explain the role of emotions in mind-body medicine.
  8. Describe the importance of self-awareness in mind-body medicine.
  9. Recognize the importance of genograms as a mind-body modality.
  10. Demonstrate the drawing of a genogram.

Registration
The Center for Mind-Body Medicine is hosting registration for this event.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education and the Center for Mind Body Medicine. University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

American Medical Association (AMA)

The University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education designates this live activity for a maximum of 27.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
This activity is awarded up to 27.0 ANCC contact hours.

Other Healthcare Professionals
Other healthcare professionals who participate in this CE activity may submit their certificate of participation to their appropriate accrediting organizations or state boards for consideration of credit. The participant is responsible for determining whether this activity meets the requirements for acceptable continuing education.
