The Minnesota Association of Geriatrics Inspired Clinicians (MAGIC) 2022 Annual Conference will address major clinical, policy and leadership issues related to care of older adults and those in long-term care settings in Minnesota.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe the use of interdisciplinary teams to address key issues in geriatrics, such as addressing “What Matters”, Incontinence, and medication management and mobility.
  2. Describe current models, systems and policies related to care of older people in Minnesota.
  3. Describe best practice in care of common geriatric conditions and evolving settings of long-term care.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education and the Minnesota Association of Geriatrics Inspired Clinicians (MAGIC). University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Credit Designation Statements

American Medical Association
The University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.  

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
This activity is awarded up to 8.5 ANCC contact hours.

American Academy of PAs (AAPA)                                                                                                                                                                 
University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Continuing Education has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 8.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM) 

This live activity has been pre-approved by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM) for a total of 4 management hours and 7.75 clinical hours toward certification as a Certified Medical Director (CMD) in post-acute and long-term care medicine. The CMD program is administered by the ABPLM.  Each physician should claim only those hours of credit actually spent on the activity. 

Minnesota Board of Social Work
The University of Minnesota Office of Continuing Professional Development has been approved by the Minnesota Board of Social Work as a CE Provider. Up to 8.5 credit hours are offered for this activity.

Minnesota Board of Executives for Long-Term Services and Supports 
The Minnesota Board of Executives for Long-Term Services and Supports (BELTSS) has approved this activity for up to 8.5 hours of continuing education.

Other Healthcare Professionals
Other healthcare professionals who participate in this CE activity may submit their statement of participation to their appropriate accrediting organizations or state boards for consideration of credit. The participant is responsible for determining whether this activity meets the requirements for acceptable continuing education.

**Note the James Pattee Leadership Virtual Conference on November 3, 2022 is accredited for up to 2..5 credits/hours. The MAGIC Annual Conference  on November 4, 2022 is accredited for up to 6.0 credits/hours.

In the event you need to cancel your registration, the registration fee, less a $25 administrative fee, will be refunded if you notify us by 4:30 p.m. Central Time two weeks prior to the start of the conference. No refunds will be made after this date.
